Sugar Free!

sugar free

Today is my first day on a sugar free diet!

I’ve tried to reduce my sugar for months, but now it’s getting hardcore (I do have no sugar added dark chocolate covered almonds – for emergencies, of course.) However it does mean no sugary fruits (bananas, mangoes, pineapple – goodbye), no alcohol, no processed foods nor refined sugars. Pretty much just veggies, veggies, and more veggies. I do have some gluten free crackers and some millet bread with sunflower butter, but not much else that’s processed.

Now I didn’t get this idea from thin air – I’ve been reading The Beauty Detox Solution by Kimberly Snyder, and it happens to make a lot of common sense. Plus – there’s NO calorie counting. No counting at all! Just sensible eating, which just makes sense.

Sadly, my acne has gotten worse. But they say it’s a result of toxins leaving my body. I just hope it doesn’t last too long. There are several things overpowering my skin freak out:

  • My red rosacea is reducing – I’m seeing normal colored skin on my face for the first time!
  • I have a lot more energy! It’s crazy to believe – I don’t know how to explain it, but I have much more energy eating clean than I ever did on a heavy carb-sugar-caffeine diet.
  • Mentally I’m clear headed and calm. I used to be riddled with anxiety, but I’ve been happier and stress free.
  • I’m losing weight; getting toned.

Plus, I have to admit, the acne I’m getting is not the normal acne that I’m used to. I used to get big pimples randomly all over my face. Now it’s much small, and clustered together. And you can tell I have much more acne on the right side of my face than my left side.
